Terms of sale
Ashfield Group Ltd — trading as Ashfield Stone Clearance. Registered in England & Wales.
1. Sold as seen
All items are sold as described and photographed. Every listing carries a condition note that honestly states any defects, blemishes, contamination or shortfall. By placing an order you confirm you have read and accepted the condition note for every item in your basket.
No warranty is given as to fitness for purpose, suitability for any particular application, or freedom from additional undisclosed defects beyond those stated. Stone and porcelain is a natural or kiln-fired material; minor variations in colour, texture and size are inherent and not a defect.
2. Payment
Payment is required in full, online, before collection. We do not accept payment at the yard — no card reader, no cash, no cheques.
Lower-value orders are processed by card through Stripe (3D Secure applied to UK cards). Higher-value orders require a bank transfer; stock is held for up to 72 hours pending cleared funds and released automatically if payment is not received in time.
All prices shown are in GBP and include VAT at the current UK rate (20%) unless otherwise stated. A VAT breakdown is provided on your order confirmation.
3. Collection only
This is a collection-only service. You must collect from our yard within the agreed slot. We do not offer delivery as standard; transport arrangements are available by separate negotiation (price on application).
Once goods are loaded and the collection note is signed, risk of loss or damage passes to you. We accept no liability for damage in transit once the goods have left our premises.
4. Consumer rights (B2C)
If you are a private individual (not purchasing in the course of business) the Consumer Rights Act 2015 applies. Goods must be as described. Our condition notes and photographs are the description; items are not faulty if they are accurately described.
Cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 do not apply to goods collected in person from our premises.
5. Trade buyers (B2B)
If you are purchasing in the course of business (indicated by the trade checkbox at checkout) you agree that the Consumer Rights Act 2015 does not apply and that goods are sold strictly as seen with no implied warranty of quality or fitness for purpose under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended).
6. Evidence and disputes
At every collection we capture a signed collection note, a photo of the goods loaded on the collecting vehicle and confirmation that photo ID has been checked. These records are retained for dispute purposes. By collecting, you confirm you have received the goods as described.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of or in connection with a sale is limited to the price paid for the goods in question. We are not liable for any consequential, indirect or economic loss.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
